This is Alicia. She’s a very talented photographer here in Omaha. She’s got a fierce but tender personality and taught me not only great technical elements of photo shoots, but also the harder, more nuanced elements of what it looks like to be a photographer in a community of photographers. I met Lane this past week in Colorado. She's a young and super talented creative here in the Omaha area. I got to spend an evening in Colorado with her and some others finding fun spots to take photos. Here are some of the photos I took of her. Be sure to check out her page, too: @lanewesleyphoto
I had the privilege of taking photos and learning alongside many amazing photographers this past week. @mrsklebz was one of the super talented photographers on the trip. She taught me a lot about posing and how to have fun while working with individuals and couples. Check out her photography at @amberklebbaphotography. 🙌🏻
I had a great time playing with some flare while shooting Caleb and Micah in Colorado. This was so much fun!
I’ve been in Colorado this week with some amazing photographers who have a foundational value of “community over competition.” We are part of the @creativescollaborative and @omahaphotocollab . I’ve personally enjoyed being around so many like-minded creatives. And I’ve super enjoyed the opportunity to shoot couples like Steven and Candice Foster who allowed us all to take turns posing them and taking their photo. It’s been so much fun!
Today is @sarah23marie and my ninth anniversary. But today we are not able to celebrate it together in person because she encouraged me to go on an incredible trip with 20 other Nebraska photographers to Colorado. She knew, perhaps even more than me, how much this trip would energize and rejuvenate me. . Recently I’ve been struck by just how well we know each other. Married nine years, together for fifteen. We are coworkers, coparents, and best friends. We have fun together, we work hard together, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
